Hop's Heresy: Butler just a ‘great team’ going for broke

April 4, 2011

It only took a few minutes following UConn's win over Kentucky Saturday night for the talking heads, the experts on college basketball, to cast away Butler's incredible two-year run for the NCAA championship.
All six "experts" were quick to ring out "UConn" because of their overwhelming talent advantage. They're just too tough for the boys from Indy. In fact, I hear a lot of resentment from the talk show hosts because Butler and VCU, mid-majors, ruined the Final Four party.

April 1, 2011

"I think we can finish in the top four of the conference," stated Adams Central girls track coach Bart Lehman, on his outlook for the coming track campaign.
Well, either Lehman knows a lot more than anyone else about his girls track team, or he's counting on a bunch of varsity-unknowns to step in, fit right in, and score big time.
    Maybe it's both.

Butler/VCU grad’s ‘heart with Butler’

April 1, 2011

As a doctor specializing in treating emergency room cases, Dr. Jonathan Schmitz of Indianapolis is involved regularly in matters of life and death.
As a graduate of Butler University and Virginia Commonwealth University, making a decision about which team to support in Saturday’s men’s basketball Final Four semi-final game is much easier.
