The total compensation for which general contractor Construction Control Inc., Fort Wayne, will be paid for design work for the construction of a new county jail and superior court complex will be $565,000, Adams County Attorney Mark Burry reported at Monday’s weekly commission meeting.

Homer Melching, 87, Bluffton, died Thursday, Oct. 9, 2014, at Christian Care Retirement Community in Bluffton. He was born in Wells County on March 9, 1927, to the late Frank and Verna Melching. Homer married Lois V. “Ginger” Kleinknight on July 26, 1953; she preceded him in death on April 30, 2012.
Among survivors are one grandson, Brett (Jamie) Melching of Monroe; one granddaughter, Tori Melching of Bluffton; one great-grandson, Trace Melching; and a sister, Nina Meyer of North Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.
Carol S. Thieme, 70, Decatur, died Thursday, Oct. 9, 2014, at DuPont Hospital in Fort Wayne.
She was born in Ionia, Mich., Saturday, Sept. 9, 1944, the daughter of the late Martin and Ottilie (List) Succop. She married James R. Thieme on Dec. 27, 1971, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne; he survives
