WZBD broadcaster AJ Kalver, former Columbia City coach Randy Kearby and current East Noble coach Keith Hoffar were among those who received induction honors Sunday Sunday at the annual IHSWCA Hall of Fame banquet held in Greenwood.
Kalver, the former Bellmont coach, was inducted as a coach in 2010 and received his latest honor because of 35 years of wrestling broadcasts, starting with WADM in 1980. He was introduced by South Adams coach Barry Humble, who had nominated Kalver for the honor.

Kentucky played host to SEC league door matt Auburn and appropriately blew them out of the gym. Kentucky used a 23-2 run in the first half to break open a 27 point first half lead. They never looked back as Auburn never seriously threatened again. Karl Anthony Towns led Kentucky with 19 points and 10 rebounds.

South Adams senior Sawyer Miller advanced to the 120-pound championship match of the state wrestling tournament Saturday night at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis but lost in overtime, 3-1 to finish as state runner-up.

Emails notifying school officials of eleventh-hour changes in the state’s ISTEP+ exam were sent to all school district’s in Indiana Thursday, and officials at North Adams Community Schools were sifting through those changes in an attempt to get a handle on what to expect in this year’s round of testing.
Melissa Norby, the city’s new community coordinator, was introduced by Mayor John Schultz at Tuesday night’s city council meeting. “We want to welcome her aboard,” he said.
It was her last council meeting as a spectator since Norby begins her duties Monday. At the request of Schultz, council approved an expenditure of up to $3,500 from Community Capital Improvement funds to purchase for Norby’s use a computer, a laptop and a printer.
