John B. Lange, Jr., 82, Huntsville, Ohio, passed away, Sunday, Dec. 28, 2014, at Logan Acres Care Center in Bellefontaine, Ohio.
John was born in Decatur April 3, 1932 to the late John B. “Ben” Lange, Sr. and Anna Mary “Mayme” Braun Lange. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Harold, and two grandsons, Rodney Tinsley, Jr., and Jasen Lange.
On Dec. 26, 1953, he married the former Erma Jane Meyers at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church in Russells Point, Ohio and she survives.
Joe Serna, 58, passed away unexpectedly Monday, Dec. 8, 2014, in his home in Groveland, Calif. He was born in Carrizo Springs, Texas March 9, 1956, to Dionisio and Felicitas Serna.

Homer Junior Arnold, 83, Berne, passed away Sunday, Dec. 28, 2014, at Swiss Village. He was born in Kirkland Township in Adams County Aug. 25, 1931, to the late Homer W. and Lulu (Byerly) Arnold. On April 6, 1952 he married his wife of 62 years, Edith M. (Steury) Arnold; she survives in Berne.
JoAnne Prowant, 87, Dupont, Ohio, died peacefully at her daughter's home in Decatur at 8:48 p.m. Friday, Dec. 26, 2014, surrounded by her loving family.
Born and raised in Dupont, the daughter of Warren and Aura Myers, she was lifelong resident of Dupont.
HONOLULU (AP) — President Barack Obama says the longest war in American history is coming to a responsible conclusion.
Obama is welcoming the end of U.S. combat operations in Afghanistan. The war came to a formal end Sunday with a ceremony in Kabul.
Obama says in a statement that the effort has devastated al-Qaida’s core leadership, brought justice to Osama bin Laden and disrupted terrorist plots. He says U.S. troops and diplomats have helped Afghans reclaim their communities and move toward democracy.
