Stephen L. Smith, 63, Decatur, died at his residence Friday, May 23, 2014.
Steve was born March 1, 1951, in Decatur, to the late Lewis L. and Esther M. (Swenson) Smith. He married Patricia M. Lengerich Aug. 28, 1976; she survives.
Steve was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society. He was a member of the Local 414 Teamsters Union, the Decatur Masonic Lodge 571 F. & A.M., Scottish Rite Valley of Fort Wayne and the Mizpah Shrine in Fort Wayne.
Sister Irene Kohne, CSA, (baptized Helen Kohne), 93, died peacefully May 27, 2014, at Nazareth Center in Fond du Lac, Wisc.
Helen was born July 10, 1920, in Decatur, to the late Julius and Mary (Miller) Kohne. She was one of six children; four boys and two girls.
Judy M. Studebaker, 65, Berne, passed away Friday, May 23, 2014, at Genesis Healthcare in New Haven.
She was born Feb. 9, 1949, in Decatur to the late Kenneth and Janice (Sprunger) Hoffman.
She had worked as a secretary for the Adams County Health Department. Judy served on the Election Board in Adams County. She enjoyed baking and cross stitching and was an avid Cubs fan.
Adams County resident Jon Fuhrmann appeared before the Adams County Commissioners Tuesday afternoon at their regularly scheduled weekly meeting to inform them of a potential eminent domain issue involving his property and I&M Power.
“I don’t know if there’s anything you can do with this, but I wanted to make you aware” of the situation, Fuhrmann commented in introducing himself and his concerns to commissioners.

Arnold “Arnie” Ostermeyer, 93, Decatur, passed away Saturday, May 24, 2014, at his residence. Arnie was born Friday, Oct. 22, 1920, in Wells County, the son of the late Martin and Sophie (Thieme) Ostermeyer.
He married Evelyn Schroeder Jan. 18, 1942, at Zion Lutheran Church- Friedheim; she passed away Sept. 18, 2004.
