Mary Joan (Leitz) Edington, 84, Fort Wayne, died Monday, Jan. 20, 2014, at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home.
She was born Sept. 24, 1929, the daughter of the late Raymond P. and Estella (Parks) Leitz.
When Mary was 10 years old, the family moved to Decatur and she graduated from Decatur High School in 1947. She married James Robert Edington in 1949; they lived in Bluffton until the family moved to Fort Wayne in 1960.
As a mother, Mary Lou Jesionowski, 84, made extraordinary sacrifices to give her children life, love and inspiration. She passed away at 12:30 a.m. January 21, 2014, at Woodcrest Nursing Home.

At the initial meeting of the new year for the Adams Health Network Board of Trustees, members learned a significant financial turnaround occurred in 2013 with a year ending positive balance of $573,234 — compared to a $1,922,567 deficit in 2012.
On Friday the basketball gym at Adams Central was rocking. AC students and staff were there to celebrate the school district’s triple “A” status after the elementary, middle and high schools received A’s by the state Department of Education for the 2013 school year.
The grades were based on ISTEP+ performance and growth in math, language arts, and a combination of the two; results of End of Course Assessments; attendance rates; and graduation rates.
BERNE — Bellmont's Logan Neher handed South Adams' junior Boaz Marbach his first loss in two months, scoring a 9-3 victory at 145 pounds, and the Braves continued their strong late-season push with a 63-12 win over the Starfires in the final dual meet of the season for both clubs.
Bellmont won 11 matches, scoring eight falls, and took a forfeit at 138 in the rout, which surprised both coaches.
