Tonight the Braves play host to NHC rival Carroll at the Teepee starting with the JV contest at 6:15 p.m. The DDD pre-game show will begin at approximately 7:30 p.m. or after the JV contest has completed.

The often-quoted life lesson, "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger," is a nice philosophy, but it's a creed that's a bear to put into practice.
For Bellmont wrestling, it's a way of life. The Braves were physically humbled by a talent-reeking state championship Perry Meridian team, 69-3, three weeks ago, and on their home mat. That same day they knocked off state-ranked, and state-invited Bloomington South, 45-29.
Carolyn S. Meshberger, 88, Berne, died Jan. 30, 2014, at Swiss Village.
Survivors include a daughter, Lisa (Karl) Steiner of Domestic and a sister, Anita (Jay) Macy of Bluffton.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Yager-Kirchhofer Funeral Home with Pastor Clark Stoller officiating. Burial is in the Greenwood Cemetery, rural Linn Grove. Visitation will be held Saturday from 3-8 p.m. and one hour prior to services, both at the funeral home.
Brice L. Minger, 66, Berne, died Friday.
Arrangements are pending at Yager-Kirchhofer Funeral HOme.
Three local agricultural organizations shared the spotlight at Thursday night’s Ag Extravaganza, held at the Decatur Knights of Columbus Hall. Nearly 100 members of the Adams County Soil and Water Conservation District, the Adams County Pork Producers Association and the Adams County Farm Bureau gathered to honor their respective agricultural leaders and elect new officers for the coming year.
Jim Voglewede Jr. of rural Decatur has announced his candidacy for Adams County Clerk of the Circuit Court on the Republican ticket.
Voglewede is the second Republican to announce plans to seek the office that will be vacated because current Clerk of Courts Gayla Reinhart is barred by term limit law from seeking re-election. Decatur businessman Ed Dyer has also announced his candidacy for that seat.

Coni Mayer, executive director of the Adams County Community Foundation, on Thursday helped area Girl Scouts understand the importance of supporting others in their community and offered tips on improving their sales technique during the current cookie sales drive. The ACCF will purchase two boxes of cookies from each Scout — a total of 200 boxes — which will be given to local military families.

Neil R. Hesher, 82, Daytona Beach, Fla., passed away peacefully Jan. 18, 2014, at home after a short battle with cancer.
Neil was born and raised in Decatur where he graduated from Decatur High School. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force in Japan. Neil lived in Decatur before moving to Colorado and then to Florida. He was an entrepreneur who owned several businesses during his life. He was a Master Mason and a member of the Decatur lodge since 1957.
Otto F. Matheny, 78, Dade City, Fla., formerly Decatur, died Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014.
Otto is survived by his wife, Gerri (Schultz) of Dade City.
Private services will be held and his final resting place will be at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Fla.

North Adams Community Schools is the first district in northeast Indiana to elect the “Big Goal” as their official mission statement. Board members approved the goal adoption at the January school board meeting.
