Two Bluffton High School students were taken into police custody Monday after officials believe they left a note in a restroom warning of a bomb in the school earlier that morning.
Bluffton Police Chief Tammy Schaffer said her department received a call from school officials at 9:50 a.m. Monday saying there was a bomb threat at the school. The warning was delivered via a note found in a school bathroom.

As some readers may already know, there have been a few changes at the Decatur Daily Democrat. More than a few, actually. We’ll try to summarize.
The final bluegrass jam of the season was held Sunday at the Gene Stratton- Porter cabin at the Limberlost State Historic Site in Geneva. The event drew more than 20 artists performing on guitar, bass, Dobro, banjo, fiddle, Jew’s harp, harmonica, mandolin, and vocals. In excess of 100 people attended the final performance, which was organized and under the direction of Historic Site curator Randy Lehman.

Collin Lahr and Maddi Kloepper were crowned 2013 Homecoming King and Queen during festivities Friday night at South Adams High School. The Starfires dropped a 40-34 heartbreaker to Heritage.

Gilbert D. Brookhart, 90, Fort Wayne, died September 13, 2013 at Parkview Regional Medical Center.
Among survivors are his wife, Mary Anna (Johnson) Brookhart of Fort Wayne; three sons, James L. (Susan) Brookhart of Nixa, Mo., Steven E. (Carrie) Brookhart of Cadillac, Mich. and Kenneth W. (Jan) Brookhart of Fort Wayne; daughter, Pamela (Doug) Brookhart Wray of Indianapolis; 10 grandchildren, Eric, Jeff, Joel, Alison, Tricia, Ben, Gabe, Joe, Brandon, and Jason; and 16 great grandchildren.
David Hierholzer, 74, died Saturday, September 14, 2013 at Woodcrest Nursing Center in Decatur.
Among survivors are many cousins.
Hierholzer was preceded in death by his father, Egbert Hierholzer; mother, Alma M. (Will) Hierholzer; and brother, Lester H. Hierholzer.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 18 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 7321 E. St. Rd. 67 in Bryant.
Funeral services to follow, also at the church.
Richard A. "Rick" Hill, 63, Decatur, died Saturday, September 14, 2013 at his residence.
