BLUFFTON — For the second year in a row, Bellmont has put girls golf on the radar in Indiana advancing to regionals with a third place finish Saturday at Timberridge Golf Course.
The Squaws took the bronze medal with a team score of 368 qualifying as the last team to advance with Homestead winning the sectional outright with a score of 359 and Canterbury taking second at 365.
"We all played great and the girls should be very proud!" exclaimed BHS coach Andy Heim after the sectional finish.
St. Mary’s of the Assumption Catholic Church in Decatur held its annual Fall Festival over the recently-completed weekend. Festival spokesperson Judy Converset said the event was “bigger than ever. We sold more than 300 wristbands to children on Sunday alone and assuming they all had parents or grandparents there we are looking at a lot of people.”

It all happened in 1995.
OJ Simpson was found innocent, the Oklahoma City bombing devastated the country, and the DVD was announced.
What local Adams County buffs may remember to be just as significant, however, was the last time that Bellmont defeated Homestead on the gridiron.
On a rainy, slippery field at Worthman Stadium, the Bellmont Braves pulled out an unlikely upset of the juggernaut Homestead Spartans in overtime, 14-13, a feat that had not occurred in 17 years of football.
Tonight the Braves welcome Homestead to Worthman Stadium with a kick-off of around 7 p.m. The webcast of tonight's game will begin with a pre-game show around 6:40 p.m.

An old point of contention between the Adams County Commissioners and the Adams County Council reared its head during discussions between the two entities prior to the start of scheduled budget hearings on Tuesday morning.
When is too much really too much?
That question arose at Tuesday night's city council meeting, spurred by Councilman Matt Dyer, who addressed a photo floating around the council chambers.
The photo showed an enormous pile of trash piled along the sidewalk at a home on Walnut St. for last week's heavy trash pickup.
City Operations Manager Jeremy Gilbert said it cost the city $94 to get rid of the trash at the transfer station.
