Jerry J. Kitterman, 69, Montpelier, passed away at 8:22 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 28, 2013, at IU Health Blackford Hospital in Hartford City.
He was born on Wednesday, Oct. 25, 1944, in Bluffton to the late Robert and R. Jeanette (Ducy) Kitterman.
John R. Zintsmaster was the oldest son, born to the Lester R Zintsmaster, former Decatur car dealer, and Clara Teresa Kearney of West Virginia. Alice Beineke Zintsmaster was the youngest daughter, born to Albert Beineke and June Blossom Burkhart, local farmer and business investor in the Decatur area. Both passed away this year in Scottsdale, Ariz., after 58 years of marriage. Alice passed away on March 24, 2013, her loyal and loving husband, John, passed away five months later on Aug. 20, 2013.
Three days after securing their 30th sectional title in school history, the Squaws continued their stellar season with a 13th regional crown at the Teepee on Tuesday night.
In the much anticipated rematch with the Delta Lady Eagles, Bellmont avenged a loss from a Saturday tournament earlier this season and dismantled the visiting team in four sets 25-18, 23-25, 25-15, 25-21.
"The energy level from the crowd and our girls was amazing," noted Bellmont coach Craig Krull.
Tonight the Bellmont Squaws host Delta in a huge regional vollyeball match-up with a semi-state berth on the line. The game will begin at 7 p.m. with a pre-game show set up for 6:40 p.m.

Adams County Commissioners and County Attorney Mark Burry revisited discussions surrounding the possible construction of a telecommunications tower during Monday’s regular weekly meeting.
Last April the commissioners accepted bids for the construction of a 180-foot tower to accommodate and upgrade the county’s 911 and sheriff’s dispatch communications system, which is prone to dead zones and areas with severe interference problems with other communication devices.
The voting has concluded and winners have been announced in the 2013 Callithumpian Baby Photo contest.
Photos of area toddlers have been on display throughout most of October at the Decatur Walgreens pharmacy,123 N. 13th Street. Store patrons have had the opportunity to vote for their favorite photo during that time, with every dollar donated to the Callithumpian Festival good for 10 votes.
Prizes have been awarded to the top three entrants.

Barbara Maxine Buckey, 88, Decatur, died Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013, at Woodcrest Nursing Center.
She was born on April 13, 1925, in Indianapolis to the late William and Lelia (Watson) Follett.
Barbara attended Calvary Lutheran Church, Bluffton. She retired as a factory worker at Red Gold and was a member of the V.F.W. women's auxiliary in Decatur.
