Robert M. "Mack" Roberts, 72, of Decatur, died Saturday, August 24, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Among survivors are two daughters, Brenda (Robert) Roberts-Nolan of Auburn and Carolyn (Richard) Roberts-Craddock of Hendersonville, Tenn.; a son, Robert M. (Misty) Roberts II of Greenbrier, Tenn.; and a sister, Ruth Roberts of Sneedville, Tenn.;
Visitation will be from 2-3 p.m. this Saturday at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur.
Nancy Manuel and Deb Mishler of the local Purdue Extension Service updated the Adams County Commissioners Tuesday afternoon on the status of their program to address childhood obesity in Adams County. Manuel, the extension service's health and science educator, informed the commissioners that the agency had applied for and received a $20,000 childhood obesity grant through the Agricultural and Food Research Initiative.
The United Way of Adams County held its annual campaign kickoff on Wednesday, presenting two new co-chairs to the board: Jessica Thieme and Natasha Nevil.
The event marks the start of the 2013-2014 campaign season and a new and higher goal of $200,002 to be raised.
The kickoff luncheon honored the 2013 Campaign Pacesetters who raised over $60,000 last year, the agencies, and the campaign team.

Plans are well under way for the Decatur Chamber of Commerce's annual Callithumpian Festival and parade.
According to a Chamber of Commerce spokeswoman, the deadline for any groups or organizations who wish to list events or ads in the Callithumpian brochure is Saturday.

FORT WAYNE—The Squaws finished up their six-match road trip at Northrop on Wednesday night sending the Bruins reeling with a three-set sweep, 25-9, 25-10, 25-12.
Bellmont thoroughly dominated the match from the start improving their record to 8-3 on the season before heading home tonight for a match against another big Fort Wayne school, Snider.
