The Adams Central football field was a busy place Saturday and into Sunday as the 2013 Relay for Life was held.
Co-honoraries Tyson Bahrke and Lisa Case lead the Survivors' Walk, which opened the event at noon on Saturday.
Hundreds of people turned out for the annual event held in upper-80-degree weather.
Like Tyson Bahrke, the other Honorarie for this year's Adams County Relay for Life held last weekend, Lisa Case's battle with cancer began less than a year ago.
At the end of August, Lisa began to complain of dizziness and headaches, which doctors thought were brought on by a urinary infection. However, a couple of weeks after her symptoms began, Lisa experienced an extreme bout of dizziness that landed her in the emergency room at Adams Memorial.
Friday's report from the Indiana Department of Workforce Development showed that unemployment was unchanged in Adams County during May.
The report listed the county with a 6.8 percent jobless rate for the month, identical to the previous month. April's 6.8 percent rate was Adams County's lowest since October of 2012 and was a substantial drop from the county's 8.1 percent rate in March of this year.
One year ago, in May of 2012, the county's unemployment rate was 7.3 percent.
