Just nine days after suffering a near-fatal heart attack, Berne City Council President Gregg Sprunger was in his usual seat Monday evening as the council met for its regularly-scheduled meeting.
Sprunger appeared slightly pale and spoke softly, but nonetheless contributed to several spirited discussions throughout the evening.
Viola Dennison, 95, of Berne, passed away Monday, February 25, 2013, at Swiss Village.
She was born on November 25, 1917, to the late Daniel and Barbara (Liechty) Habegger in Adams County.
She married Claude Dennison on November 10, 1945; he preceded her in death.
Colleen Hodge, 64, of Berne, died Monday.

Lorine Hoffman, 91, of Decatur, passed away at 5:55 p.m. on Saturday, February 23, 2013, at Woodcrest Nursing Center in Decatur.
She was born on Sunday, June 19, 1921, in Adams County, to the late Henry and Emma (Westphal) Erxleben.
Lorine married Walter Hoffman on June 19, 1943, in the parsonage at Zion Lutheran Church, Friedheim; he passed away on October 13, 1991.
The Allen County Athletic Conference released their list of all-conference selections from the 2012-13 girls basketball season.
It was a four-team race atop the standings this season with Garrett and Leo sharing the ACAC title during the regular season at 6-1 apiece including tournament play. Southern Wells and Woodlan shared third place honors with a 5-2 mark, while Heritage played to a 3-4 record, Adams Central finished at 2-5, South Adams went 1-6, and Bluffton sat in the basement with an 0-7 mark.

Harold J. Feasby, 94, of Van Wert, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, February 24, 2013, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
He was born February 3, 1919, in Tully Township to the late Willis K. and Othal (Foley) Feasby.
Harold married June Violet Gipe on May 16, 1942; she preceded him in death on December 20, 2010.

Janet Kenworthy, 84, of Fort Wayne, died Friday.
Among survivors are her husband, former Decatur resident Forest Kenworthy; two sons, Jim (Karen) Yankosky, and Bob (Maria) Kenworthy; and a daughter, Judy (Randy) Kahn.
Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. on Tuesday at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Homes, Winchester Road Chapel, 6424 Winchester Road, Fort Wayne. Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
The board of directors of Habitat for Humanity of Adams County recently was stunned by receipt of one of the largest monetary bequests in county history, one which will allow the organization to complete a number of homes for local families who cannot afford to buy houses.
The bequest of almost $125,000 came in the will of Pauline M. DeBolt of Berne, who died on April 4, 2012 in Decatur at the age of 81.
