Judith A. Ainsworth, 73, of Decatur, died on Tuesday, February 19, 2013, at Adams Memorial Hospital.
Judy was born on January 5, 1940, in Fort Wayne, to the late Robert E. and Bertha I. (Gibson) Lane.
She married Gayle E. Ainsworth on September 5, 1959; he survives in Decatur.
Geraldine R. Meyer, 88, of Bluffton, formerly of rural Ossian, passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2013, at Christian Care Retirement Community.
She was born on October 1, 1924, in Allen County to the late Paul and Ida (Luttman) Scheumann.
Geraldine worked as a homemaker. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and also the Ladies Aid. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, and will be remembered as an avid supporter of family activities.
Robert A. Pilkington, 81, of Decatur, died on Monday, February 18, 2013, at Bay Pines V.A. Hospital in St. Petersburg, Fla.
Bob was born in Alliance, Nebaska., on March 4, 1931, to the late Leonard and Ruth M. (Leonard) Pilkington.
He married Wilma Fredenburg on November 1, 1952; she survives.
A 1923 Kimball baby grand piano, restored to beauty by the efforts of Medford Smith of Decatur, will have its public debut on Saturday when The Friends of the Library will host an “Open That Bottle Night” fundraiser from 7-9 p.m. at the Adams Public Library branch in Decatur.
The piano was found in poor condition in the onetime Stoner house at Third and Jefferson streets before the building was demolished a couple of months ago.
The City of Decatur has a plan commission again — one with two more members than ever before and three new faces.
The new members are Jack Macklin, Dennis Scheumann and Larry Isch.
A single-vehicle accident around 6 a.m. today resulted in the driver of the vehicle being killed, according to a release from the Adams County Sheriff's Department.
Sheriff Shane Rekeweg said the accident occurred on C.R. 900N near C.R. 550W. Deputies, paramedics, and the Preble Fire Department were all dispatched to the scene at 6:08 a.m. when the E-911 Center received a call concerning a single-vehicle crash.
