The action was swift and rugged — sort of — as K105's traveling basketball team defeated the Adams County Crime Fighters in the Bellmont gym on Monday night.
A nice-sized crowed turned out to see the fun and games.
No one was able to win the $15,000 at halftime, but Sam Smitley got a head rub from Casey the Cash Cow and in the end everyone said "congrats" before heading home.
Proceeds went to the local Crime Stoppers organization.
Jeff Huffman, 54, of Geneva, passed away at 12:02 a.m. Monday, February 18, 2013, at Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis.
He was born on Sunday, March 16, 1958, in Jay County to the late Francis F. and Margaret Jane (Farlow) Huffman.
Jeff graduated with the South Adams High School Class of 1976. He worked at Franklin Electric and Strick in Monroe for 28 years. Jeff enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, mushroom hunting and the outdoors.
Robert A. Pilkington, 81, of Decatur, died Monday.
Arrangements are pending at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home.
According to information released today, Tye L. Elder, 22, Interlaken Drive, Berne, was arrested by the Berne Police Department last Thursday on three methamphetamine-related charges:
Possession of meth, the manufacture of meth, and maintaining a common nuisance.
Elder is being held without bond at the county jail.

Proceeds from free-will donations going to Wounded Warriors, an announcement said.
L. M. “Bud” Poyser Jr., 67, of New Haven, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 13, 2013.
Among survivors are his wife of over 45 years, Barbara (Werling) Poyser; sons, Mark (Shanon) Poyser and Rick (Liz) Poyser, both of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Riley, Madison, Ethan, and Brianna; mother, Josephine Halter of Fort Wayne; and siblings, Jerry (Patty) Poyser of Angola and Sharron (Jim) Spangle of Fort Wayne.

Graham Trucking, owned by Decatur native Ted Porter, has won four of the last five Qatar race championships.
