Madison Stoppenhagen was crowned Bellmont High School's 2012 Silver Arrow Queen during ceremonies at Saturday night's basketball game.
Last year's queen, Taylor Kennedy, was on hand to crown Stoppenhagen.
The BHS senior is the daughter of Kent and Monica Stoppenhagen of Preble Township.
Other candidates were Tessa Bolton and Megan Schueler.
BERNE — The wrestling Jets answered the call of head coach Doug Schultz Saturday with all 14 grapplers earning places, including four championships, as the Jets took the ACAC Wrestling Tournament with 242 points to the 220 of second-place Leo. South Adams was third with 202 points.
“Really, going in we thought our depth could win the thing and that’s exactly how we won. Our kids came back and got a lot of pins in the wrestlebacks and that was key,” said Schultz.
AUBURN — Carroll took four championships and five runner-up slots, and all 14 wrestlers scored Saturday as the Chargers held off East Noble 262-248.5 to add the 2013 Northeast Hoosier Conference Wrestling Tournament crown to their dual-meet season title.

BLUFFTON—It was a 42-42 tie with 1:35 left in the ball game when Chandler Prible stole a pass at mid-court and drove in for a lay-up that put Bluffton up for good on the Adams Central Flying Jets Friday night at the Tigers' Den.
Both teams entered the contest 3-0 in the ACAC but Bluffton was the team hoisting up the hardware after knocking off Woodlan in the title game at the Coliseum last week for the conference crown.
Michelle D. Rodriguez, 32, Decatur, the alleged mastermind behind a string of armed robberies of Amish families by three teenage boys in September of 2012, was handed a six-year prison term in Adams Superior Court on Thursday..
Rodriguez pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit armed robbery. Judge Patrick R. Miller handed down the sentence.
The Decatur Chamber of Commerce has named Hoosier Pattern Inc, as its 2012 Small Business of the Year and Fleetwood RV as the 2012 Large Business of the Year.
Each year the Chamber names an outstanding company that has demonstrated a high degree of community involvement and good corporate citizenship to this honor., the Chamber said in a news release.
When the Adams County Crime Fighters take on the Fort Wayne K105 radio team in a benefit basketball game on February 18, one person in attendance will have the opportunity to win $15,000.
The game to benefit the local Crime Stoppers program will start at 7 p.m. in the Bellmont High School gym.
MONROE – The Bellmont girls’ and boys’ swimming and diving teams swept Adams Central on Thursday, but Jets coaches Patti Sauer and Lana Shoaf received a celebratory push in the pool anyway.
The reason for the celebration – continuing improvement from their swimmers. After sweeping Wabash on Tuesday, the Adams Central swimmers begged to see their coaches take a dip. They were safe on Tuesday, but not so on Thursday.
"There's going to be a good team race Saturday at the NHC, but it will be East Noble and Carroll. We're going to have to wrestle well to get third," stated Bellmont wrestling coach Brent Faurote, stating the unthinkable in years past.
Bellmont, which has dominated NHC wrestling, and NEIAC wrestling before that, will not have a part of an conference wrestling championship for the first time in 23 years Saturday after the dust settles at DeKalb High School.
