Eulalia M. Augsburger

    Eulalia M. Augsburger, 95, Decatur, passed away Saturday, Dec.14, 2013, at Adams Memorial Hospital.
    She was born Oct. 20, 1918, in Adams County, daughter of the late Christian and Katherine (Korte) Borne.
    She married Walter J. Augsburger June 20, 1943; he died Feb. 9, 2001.
    Eulalia was a member of Zion United Church of Christ where she was in the Women’s Guild and Friendship Circle. She worked as an administrative clerk for the Agriculture Stabilization Conservation Service.

Mildred L. Brillinger

    Mildred Loretta Brillinger, 80, Noblesville, died Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013 in Noblesville.
    She was the wife of Pastor Otto A. Brillinger, former Pastor at Zion Lutheran Church, Friedheim and Immanuel Lutheran Church in Union Township.    Visitation was Sunday at Christ Lutheran Church in Noblesville.
    Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, also in the church.
    Burial will follow at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville.

    Old Man Winter, not officially due to arrive until Dec. 21, made an early visit to Adams County over the weekend as the first substantial snowfall of the winter season left the county mostly paralyzed early Saturday morning.

Commissioners approve new scanning software

    Landon Patterson, director of the Adams County Data Processing Board, requested the purchase of a software program for the scanning and storage of documents at the regular meeting of the Adams County Commissioners last week.
    The program will allow for “reliable document imaging and sharing” between the clerk of courts, auditor’s and recorder’s offices, Patterson said, noting the software will not create a public portal, but is for internal use only.

Jay Co. downs Starfires, 61-32

    PORTLAND— The Starfire boys basketball team braved the snows while most of the region postponed on Saturday night falling big to Jay County on the road 61-32.
    Jay County, the up and coming ACAC squad, got a taste from the smallest conference school in SA taking a 17-10 lead after one quarter and never looking back en route to a 3-1 start to their season. The Stars fell to 2-3 on the year with the loss.
