Timothy E. "Tim" Bowers, 32, Decatur, passed away Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013, at Lutheran Hospital as the result of a tragic hunting accident.
He was born Feb. 18, 1981, to Charles and Carol (LaFontaine) Bowers; they survive.
He married Abbey Logan on Aug. 3, 2013; she survives.
Tim was a member of Saint Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church and its Knights of Colubus Msgr. Seimetz Council 864. He was the owner of 5 Points Transmission.
Susan E. Bothast, 68, Montpelier, died Monday, Nov. 4, 2013, at Bluffton Regional Medical Center.

Evelyn A. Purdy, 80, Berne, died Monday, Nov. 4, 2013, at Swiss Village.

Alice I. (Hirschy) Ross, 79, rural Adams County, died Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne.
She was a homemaker and worked at Peter Eckrich for more than 20 years. She also worked at Ararmak Vending and was currently a greeter at the Apple Glen Wal-mart. She attended First Assembly Church, Fort Wayne.
The Adams County Commissioners at Monday’s regularly scheduled weekly meeting approved a request from Highway Department Superintendent Mark Mitchel to look at the possibility of purchasing new hoists and beds for two Volvo trucks which are deteriorating due to age and rust.
Yields are up, but commodity prices are down, as farmers in Adams County put the finishing touches on the 2013 harvest season.
After a 2012 growing season adversely affected by lingering dry weather, corn crop yields in the county are showing a marked improvement over last year, said Dawn Hummel, program technician for the Adams County office of the Farm Service Agency.
In an effort to insure that all members of the nation’s armed forces receive their holiday gifts, packages and correspondence in time for the holidays, Decatur Postmaster Weston Worth has released dates by which items need to be postmarked in order to arrive at their destination in a timely fashion.
According to Worth, “We want to remind customers about these important mailing dates” which “will help ensure cards, letters and packages arrive in time for the holidays.”
