KENDALLVILLE — Two long kickoff returns put across one touchdown and set up another, plus a pick-six in the final period spurred East Noble to a 34-7 victory over Bellmont Friday night in a game that saw the Braves out-gain the host Knights.
Richard D. Baumgartner, 65, Decatur, passed away at 1:20 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013, in Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Richard was born on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 1948, in Brazil, Ind. to the late Richard L and Miladeen (Scott) Baumgartner. He married Bonnie J. (White) Hendricks on Aug. 10, 1996, she survives.
Jane Buckingham, 71, Bluffton, died Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.
Arrangements are pending at Downing and Glancy Funeral Home, Geneva.
As the Braves venture to East Noble tonight to end their regular season, the DDD will be broadcasting the Adams Central/Woodlan game with a kick-off at around 7 p.m.

Doris M. (Henry) Fosnaugh, 90, Fort Wayne, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Wed. Oct. 16, 2013. She was born in Fort Wayne on Oct. 30, 1922.
She graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1940. During World War II, Doris worked for GE. After raising her six children she worked for Walker Reseach and volunteered with the SPCA and humane shelters. Her love for animals were great.
Joan F. Koos, 87, Decatur, died Thursday, Oct. 17, 2013, at Adams Memorial Hospital.
Joan was born in Berne on Jan. 30, 1926, to the late Werner and Florence (Teeter) Lehman. She married the late Guy L. Koos in May of 1946, he passed in 1976.
Joan was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church. She worked as children's librarian at the Decatur Public Library and was the manager of Nowak Hallmark store in Decatur before her retirement.
Sasha J. Hunt, 22, Berne, was charged with attempted murder, a class A felony, and neglect of a dependent, a class C felony, after police say she tried to kill her 3-month-old son.
According to a probable cause affidavit, on Oct. 13 Hunt placed a sock in or over the mouth of her son and wound tape around his head to hold the sock in place. Hunt then allegedly wrapped her son in a blanket, placed him face down on a pillow inside a closet, closed the door, and walked away.
The former Dunbar Furniture Company building that has blighted the city landscape for several years may soon be gone, according to Berne City Attorney Jim Beitler.
Beitler told the city council Tuesday he recently met with representatives from Indianapolis and Fort Wayne firms regarding the property and feels the city will be ready to move into “phase two” of its plan to eliminate the eyesore.
