Wilma M. Funk, 88, of Lovington, Illinois, left this life surrounded by family on Friday, January 6, 2012, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, Illinois.
Mrs. Funk was born on June 4, 1923, in Craigville, the daughter of Orval and Edith Barger.
She married Farrell B. Funk in November of 1945, in Noblesville, Ind. He preceded her in death on February 9, 1980.
Levi A. Hilty, 52, of Monroe, passed away at 2:12 a.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2012, at Adams Memorial Hospital in Decatur.
He was born on Monday, December 7, 1959, in Adams County, to Andrew and Amanda Hilty, of Monroe.
Mr. Hilty was a part owner of Hilty Home Sales in Monroe and suffered from Muscular Dystrophy.
He was a member of the Old Order Amish community.
Elizabeth E. “Ebbie” Kolter, 80, of Decatur, passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2012, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
She was born on November 30, 1931, in Chicago, to the late Clinton and Elizabeth (Mondhank) Hersh.
She married Karl Kolter on November 18, 1951.
Evangeline L. Lehman, 90, of Berne , passed away Saturday, January 7, 2012, at Swiss Village Community Center, Berne.
She was born on February 3, 1921, in Adams County, to Oren and Louise (Kirchhofer) Moser.
She married Ornell Lehman on September 30, 1955. Ornell preceded her in death on January 24, 1990.
Evangeline was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church. In her earlier years she taught Sunday School and played in the Zuercher Accordion Band.
Mary Beery of rural Adams County has announced her candidacy for the office of auditor of Adams County. Formal election filing for county offices begins Wednesday.
Current Auditor Bill Borne cannot run again due to term limits.
Beery currently serves as chief deputy to Borne and assumes the auditor‘s responsibilities in Borne's absence. She was appointed to that position in May of 2005.
Deborah (Deb) Stimpson of Decatur today announced her candidacy for the office of Adams County Recorder on the Republican ticket.
Current Recorder Connie Moser is prevented by term limits from seeking a new term.
Stimpson is currently the office manager for the Decatur-Adams County Parks and Recreation Department, a position she has held for the past 12 years.
The “B” wing at Woodcrest Retirement Community is open for business as the Adams Extended Care Center is now located there. Patients moved from the former Extended Care Unit at Adams Memorial Hospital to the new Woodcrest location on December 30, according to hospital officials.
In addition to the new name, a hospital spokesman said there are several other changes associated with the Adams Extended Care Center, which is owned and operated by the Adams Memorial Hospital, a division of the Adams Health Network.

Well, that was Saturday's Adams Central-Garrett game, won by the 8-1 Flying Jets, 55-49, over the 5-3 Railroaders.
It was a nip-and-tuck battle as Garrett kept nipping at AC before the home team tucked the contest away with four-for-four free throwing in the last 15.6 seconds by senior star Maverick Baumer, whose 20 points led all scorers.
Brad Busse needed just 15 seconds to cradle Sam Abu-Shehab for a six-pointer, and Ben Baker was all over Justin Ford in a 38-second close-out, capping a huge comeback as Brent Faurote's Bellmont Braves took out No. 13 Mishawaka 34-30 in the final dual at Bellmont's Main Event wrestling tourney Saturday.

Veteran Adams County Commissioner Edwin E. Coil has been named the 2011 recipient of the Stephen Decatur Award.
The Chamber of Commerce also announced that the First Bank of Berne will receive its Large Business Award for this year and the Small Business Award will go to Custom Car Care.
