January 11th
Due to incorrect information provided the newspaper, the name of Mrs. Lehman's parents was inadvertently put incorrectly printed in Monday's edition. Mrs. Lehman's parents were Oren and Louise Moser.
It was also stated that Howard Moser was Mrs. Lehman's brother-in-law when in fact Howard was Evangeline's brother.
January 10th
Virginia Nancy Dellinger, 92, of Willshire, Ohio, died Monday in Van Wert County Hospital.
She was born on May 31, 1919, in Adams County to James and Alverda (Dilling) Parrish.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Paul Dellinger, and three sons, Larry D.; Terry S.; and Barry Dellinger.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 3-7 p.m., at Cowan and Sons Funeral Home, Van Wert, with a service immediately following. Burial will be at the Willshire Cemetery.
Lee Gerber, 72, of rural Decatur, died at 8:32 p.m. Sunday at his residence.
He was born in Adams County on October 19, 1939, to Obed and Leona (Bahler) Gerber, who are deceased.
On April 13, 1963, he married Jennie Schultz in San Antonio, Texas; she survives.
A 1957 graduate of Adams Central High School, he served in the US Army from 1962-64, with the 2nd division of the 35th Artillery Unit in Hamberg, Germany.
As usual, the first Saturday of January was full of challenges for Adams County wrestlers, and for the most part they did great.
While Adams Central was winning it's own Super Dual — dabbling in the criteria chapter to get it done — South Adams was winning a 17-team invitational in Troy, Ohio, and Bellmont ... well, the Braves were put to the fire in what has to be the toughest one-day Super Dual in the state.
FORT WAYNE — State powers Homestead and Carroll duked it out as expected for honors in both the boys and girls swim titles in the annual NHC meet Saturday at Homestead with Homestead winning both events.
At his annual State of the City address given Monday at a Chamber of Commerce luncheon, Mayor John Schultz focused on the steps being taken to continue to improve the city of Decatur and encourage economic growth.
Schultz announced that Prime Inc. has begun operations at the Industrial Park III location located just north of Walmart, and said he is confident this will encourage more businesses to move into the area within the next few years.
Tony Mellencamp of Berne has announced his intention to seek the Republican nomination for one of three at-large seats on the Adams County Council. The filing period began Wednesday and runs through Feb. 7.
Jim Voglewde Jr. has formally announced his candidacy for Adams County Recorder on the 2012 Republican ticket.
The rural Decatur resident has served as Deputy Recorder to Connie Moser since the beginning of her first term in January of 2005. Moser is prevented from seeking a new term due to term limits.

Myron C. Brown, 59, of Decatur, passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2012, at Adams Memorial Hospital.
He was born on May 15, 1952, in Fort Wayne, to Charles E. and Ramona E. (Hine) Brown.
Charles Edward "Ed" Dunno, 85, of Van Wert, passed away on Friday, January 6, 2012, at his residence.
He was born on June 25, 1926, to Charles and Pearle (Snyder) Dunno, in Elwood, Indiana.
He married Lois Charlene (Stenger) on March 19, 1949, in Van Wert. She preceded him in death on September 4, 2007.
Although born in Elwood, Ed moved with his family to Van Wert in 1935. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II in Germany from 1943-1946, as a Military Policeman.
