MONROE—The Jessica Rupright and Company Road Show visited Adams Central Tuesday night and the state-ranked Norwell girls basketball team easily handled Adams Central by a 74-28 count in non-conference action.
Rupright led a Norwell contingent that saw four Knights hit double figures on offense as Norwell hiked its record to 18-3 on the season. Rupright dominated the Jets inside as she hit 13-14 shots (she also missed her only three-point shot) and posted all 26 of her points from the field.

The announcement by Adams County Council President Randy Colclasure that he will seek a new term this year means five Republicans are seeking three council nominations in the May primary.
Colclasure and Dennis Bluhm of rural Preble are bidding for new terms. Also in the primary field will be Rob Noetzel of Decatur, the GOP county chairman; Tony Mellencamp of Berne; and Pat Norton of rural Decatur.
A group of concerned residents addressed the Adams County Commissioners on Monday regarding a proposed wind test tower in Adams County.
Commission Chairman Doug Bauman asked that Building/Planning and Zoning director Neil Ogg and plan commission attorney Adam Miller address the crowd as to the proper channels for submitting a variance.
Adams County native Randy Colclasure of Decatur has announced his candidacy for a Republican nomination for an at-large seat on the Adams County Council.
He was originally elected to the council in 2000 and currently serves as its president while in his third council term.
Dorothy B. Hanni, 79, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2012, at Lutheran Hospital.
"We're looking at possible matchups with Yorktown, and I'm just happy to be doing that," said Bellmont wrestling coach Brent Faurote, whose Braves survived a three-way sectional run-off with neighbors Adams Central and South Adams Saturday at Jay County.
"We could be focusing on individual stuff because we had to battle back to get where we are. I'm just glad to be in this position," stated the coach.

James B. Roop, 83, of Decatur, and a past resident of Naples, Fla., for 21 years, passed away on Friday, January 27, 2012, in the Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home located in Fort Wayne.
He was born on Monday, April 30, 1928, in Decatur, the son of the late Ralph J. Roop and the late Etheldreda (Parent) Roop.
He married Marilyn G. Teeple on April 26, 1952, in Decatur.
Edith Elizabeth Miller, 89, of Berne, passed away on Friday, January 28, 2012, at Swiss Village in Berne.
She was born on March 1, 1922, to John J. and Eltie LaVerne Rose Habegger, in Adams County.
She married Maurice Edward Miller on April 20, 1941.
PORTLAND — Bellmont roared back from 23 points down midway through the meet and somehow held off a resilient Adams Central squad in the topsy-turvy final round to squeak out their 22nd consecutive sectional wrestling title Saturday in a mad thee-way wrestling race at Jay County.
When the dust had settled in a final round, which saw six lead changes on the team scoreboard, the Braves had 228 points to the 222 of Central and 212 of South Adams, which rolled through the finals with five champions.
BERNE— While the boys were out wrestling at Jay County, there was another cross-county rivalry going on at the Stardome where the Lady Starfires hosted the Lady Jets of Adams Central where the Jets got the better of the home team, 52-38 during their Saturday night ACAC contest.
"We knew we were going to have to play 32 minutes tonight," AC coach Sam Beer said after the contest. "They play hard the entire game and we never let up."
