Bellmont hosted the Blackford Bruins last night at the Teepee and came away with a convincing 12-4 win to improve their record to 4-1 on the season.
Senior Matt Stidam received the ball for Bellmont and went six innings allowing only two hits, three earned runs and two strikeouts.
Mayor John Schultz bought tickets from American Legion Post 43 Commander Bob Hoffman for the Honor Flight fundraiser Swiss steak dinner, to be held April 28 at the American Legion Post 43.
All of the proceeds go to the Northeast Indiana Honor Flight taking World War Two Veterans to the World War Two Monument in Washington D.C.

South Adams Schools will implement a new plan for teacher evaluations as mandated by the state beginning with the 2012-13 school year.
Superintendent Scott Litwiller said at Tuesday's board meeting that a committee of teachers and administrators has been working on the plan, but that the South Adams plan "is a modification of the Indiana Department of Education's RISE Teacher Evaluation model."
Andrea “Andi” Orme, 50, of Fort Wayne, formerly of Decatur, passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at her residence.

Phyllis J. Fisher, 82 of Fort Wayne, passed away April 5, 2012, at Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness, Florida.
Phyllis was born April 1, 1930, in Van Wert County, Ohio, to the late Donald and Edith (Johnson) Morrison.
She married James C. Fisher on February 25, 1951; he survives.
Phyllis attended Decatur Church of the Nazarene and was a homemaker.
James ‘Paul’ Henrey, 88, of rural Wren, Ohio, went to the arms of his Savior in his home on April 9, 2012, at 1 p.m..
He was born on February 25, 1924, to James Edward and Della Mae (Anderson) Henrey in Benton Township, Paulding County.
He graduated from Tully Convoy High School in 1942 where he received a letter for playing baseball.
On April 9, 1944, he married Esther Jane Abbott.
Delores E. Rickord, 86, of Fort Wayne, passed away Sunday, April 8, 2012, at University Park Nursing Center, in Fort Wayne.
Born in the Belgian Congo, in Africa, Delores worked in the plastics industry for 12 years before retiring in 1988. She was a member of Super Sixties at Blackhawk Baptist Church and the Fifty Plus group at First Assembly of God. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.
The future is now at North Adams schools, Superintendent Dr. Wylie Sirk told members of the Decatur Chamber of Commerce at the group's monthly noon luncheon series on Monday.
Sirk was joined by Bellmont High School Principal Scot Croner and North Adams technology coordinator Miriam Hopkins in outlining to the chamber crowd the advancements in digital technology under way in all grade levels throughout the school district.
A rosy employment picture was laid out before Berne City Council on Monday evening, with three local industries reporting strong sales and an optimistic outlook for the future.
Representatives from two of those companies — Smith Brothers and Key Fasteners — were on hand for the annual review of existing tax abatement agreements with the city. And both were found to have met or exceeded capital improvement expenditures laid out in their original abatement applications.

Decatur Assistant Fire Chief Jim Hitchcock has announced that the Decatur Fire Department is collecting money to purchase and distribute new smoke detectors and batteries to area residents.
According to Hitchcock, after nearly 25 years of having no fire-related deaths, Decatur has had five such fatalities in just over a two year period.
