It was a good night to root against the Braves at the Teepee Tuesday evening.
The Bellmont girls basketball team rallied from a seven-point deficit early in the fourth period by scoring five points in a span of seven seconds and the Squaws knocked off the Blackhawk Christian Braves by a final 59-56 count in non-conference action to pick up their second win of the season.
M. Judy Hebble, 73, of Decatur, died Monday, December 10, 2012, at Adams Memorial Hospital.
Judy was born in Adams County on September 23, 1939, to the late Cecil A. and Margaret L. (Ashbaucher) Melchi.
On June 1, 1958, she married Harry H. Hebble Jr.; he preceded her in death on February 14, 2003.
Judy was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She retired in 1986 from United Telephone Company as a telephone operator. She was also a homemaker.
Marilyn A. Kirchner, 62, of Decatur, died Monday.

Marilyn L. Rawley, 74 of Warrenville, Ill., died on December 6, 2012, at the Manor Care Nursing Home in Naperville, Ill.
Marilyn was born in Van Wert County, Ohio, on May 30, 1938, to the late Lester and Doris (Yocum) Wittung.
She married Robert Rawley, who preceded her in death on April 3, 1995.
Marilyn had worked for Pathways in Decatur as an assisted living care giver.
Aging & In-Home Services of Northeast Indiana (AIHS) has announced the upcoming closure of the Adams County Nutrition Site located in Riveside Center in Decatur.
Due to a decline in attendance, the last day of operation will be Monday, December 31, 2012, AIHS said.
The announcement said current participants in the program will have the option of joining the restaurant voucher program that has been operating since 2010 at Spring Garden Restaurant, 1401 Winchester Road, Decatur.
Berne City Council on Monday got its first glimpse at costly options that will bring the city's waste water treatment operation into complete compliance with new state limits on the amount of ammonia that can legally be discharged to area rivers and streams.
The city of Berne is under a mandate from the Indiana Department of Environmental Management to reduce the amount of ammonia contained in its waste water effluent by the year 2015.
The Indianapolis-based Heritage Group, under the name of its subsidiaries — Aggregates Inc. and Milestone Contractors — has acquired Meshberger Brothers Stone Corporation and LICA Construction Corp.
Caleb Brown, representing Aggregates Inc., said the Meshberger firm's name would be changed to the Aggregates name while LICA Construction would take on the name of Milestone Contractors.
Brown said that both companies would continue to operate with the same personnel employed by the local firms.
South Adams took a pair of championships for their eighth grade boys and seventh grade girls in the Adams County Middle School tournament over the weekend, while the St. Joe girls eighth grade and the Adams Central seventh grade boys were victorious as well.
South Adams eighth grade boys had to go through Bellmont in game one where they toppled the Braves 44-32 on the strength of three double digit scorers for the Stars. SA led 27-17 at the halftime break, then 38-23 after three quarters.
Thomas W. Adler, 96, Decatur, died Sunday.

Lester W. Aumann, 90, of Decatur, passed away at 7:20 a.m. on Saturday, December 8, 2012, in the Woodcrest Nursing Center.
Lester was born in Adams County on Sunday, January 22, 1922, to the late William C. and Della (Busick) Aumann.
He married Evelyn L. Thieme on August 10, 1947, in Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Decatur; she passed away on July 27, 2012.
