Marjorie I. Myers, 95, of Bluffton, passed away at 12:35 p.m. Saturday, September 22, 2012, at Christian Care Retirement Community.
She is survived by two sons, Rolland R. “Ron” (Judy) Myers of Bluffton and Rex H. (Yvonne) Myers of Bluffton.
Calling hours are 3-8 p.m. Wednesday at Thoma/Rich, Chaney & Lemler Funeral Home, Bluffton.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Pastor Dennis Leinbach officiating.
William G. Strait Sr, 93, Portland, died Monday.
Among survivors are his wife, Betty J. Wagner; two sons, Bill Strait Jr of Monroe, and Phillip Strait of Portland; and two daughters, Donna (Gerald) Manor of Portland, and Donna Strait of Portland.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday at Baird-Freeman Funeral Home in Portland.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday.
Burial will follow in Bluff Point Cemetery.
Adams County Clerk Gayla Reinhart has announced that early voting will be available in the courthouse from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 9, through Friday, November 2.
Also scheduled are Saturday voting hours from 8 a.m.-noon on October 27 and November 2.
Berne residents will see an increase on their monthly utility bills beginning in December as the city prepares for its first water rate hike in 30 years.
A public hearing to allow community input surrounding the proposed rate increase drew no comments Monday evening during the regular meeting of Berne City Council. City officials said the rate ordinance will be formally adopted at council's October 9 meeting and will go into effect some six weeks later.
A public-private endeavor to replace the roof at the South Adams Senior Center was settled Monday evening when Berne City Council awarded a bid for the project.
Acting on a recommendation from the senior center's board of directors, the council awarded the roof project quote to Limberlost Construction in the amount of $53,850.

Last season, the AC senior faced off against a Leo foreign exchange student who bested him in the regular season and in the ACAC tournament forcing Barger to settle for second place in the conference and ultimately the Jets lost their regular season title in a 3-2 decision.
