Thomas H. Lambert

    Thomas H. Lambert, 73, of Oak Harbor, Washington, passed away late August 5, 2012.     He was born on January 31, 1939, in Wellston, Ohio, to the late Thomas E. and Helen Marie (Dye) Lambert.
    Tom served in the Army and Army National Guard for 16 1/2 years. He retired from Ford Motor Company in Lima, Ohio, after 32 years of service. He also served on the Lafayette, Ohio, Police Department for 11 1/2 years, before he moved and made a home in Oak Harbor, Wash., until his death.

Harriet Ruth Seaman

    Harriet Ruth Seaman, 92, of Decatur, passed away at 4:40 a.m. on Monday, August 20, 2012, in the Woodcrest Nursing Center.
    Ruth was born on Friday, November 21, 1919, in Huntington, the daughter of the late Harvey R. and Gertrude B. (Aker) Clark.
    She married the late Wendell J. Seaman on December 15, 1939, in Markle; he passed away on January 6, 2011.

School board filing deadline is Friday

    Noon on Friday is the deadline for potential school board members at all three Adams County schools to declare their candidacies.
    Adams County Clerk Gayla Reinhart has announced that anyone interested in becoming a candidate for any of the three public boards in Adams County must submit the required paperwork prior to that deadline. Candidate forms are available Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.-4 p.m., at the clerk’s office in the courthouse.

Sculptures unveiling, walk are scheduled for Thursday

    The first annual Decatur Sculpture Walk will kick off in downtown Decatur on  Thursday with an artist's lecture at 2 p.m. at the Adams County Library in Decatur.
    Twelve pieces of new original sculpture art will be on display in the downtown area, organizers said. Four sculptures will be inside local businesses, while 12 will be located along Second St.

Three Kings going down

    Three Kings, once an iconic Hoagland restaurant, apparently is being demolished.
    According to reports, a portion of the building collapsed on Sunday and the building is now being demolished.
    The restaurant has been closed for some two years after having gone through some ownership changes.

Bellmont wins two-part match over Bluffton

    In a match that featured a "to be continued" Bellmont finally defeated the Bluffton Tigers, 3-2 on Monday night at the Teepee after initially starting the match on Thursday night.
    Postponed due to rain, the Braves picked up right where they left off last night with the singles players picking up big wins.
