As a result of a recent trade mission to China, Adams County's three school superintendents recently met with a Chinese delegate to learn more about joint educational initiatives.
An Adams County Economic Development Coporation (ACEDC) announcement said Wylie Sirk of North Adams, Scott Litwiller of South Adams and Mike Pettibone Adams Central took part in the meeting held at Adams Central School.

After breezing through the first round against the eight-seeded Decatur Dental Monday night, 12-0, the 1st Class Hoosiers faced their toughest game of the season in the semi-final match-up against Eichhorn's Jewelry but six runs in the fifth inning sealed the comeback win for the undefeated one seed, 11-9.
A somber mood was prevalent in Berne City Council chambers on Monday evening as city officials paused to tearfully remember one of their own.
After spending the first hour of Monday's meeting attending to routine city business, council members concluded their evening with an emotional tribute to Nick Taylor, who was killed a week earlier while serving his country in Afghanistan.
Although the Decatur area has seen some rain in recent days, it isn't enough to lift the burn ban currently in place in Adams County, according to Decatur Assistant Fire Chief Jim Hitchcock.
"We've been getting a lot of calls so I want to get this out there," said Hitchcock on Monday. "We've gotten some rain, but it's been spotty and it's not enough. Things are still pretty dry out there."
Now-suspended Wells County Emergency Medical Services CEO Tina Crouse is facing 76 Class D felony counts for allegedly stealing pain medication.
Crouse, 49, a onetime Decatur resident, was arrested at her near-Craigville home last weekend and jailed under a $380,000 bond. She was suspended with pay by the Wells County EMS board.
The 49-year-old Crouse surrendered peacefully to the Indiana State Police, according to the Bluffton News-Banner.

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The NCAA slammed Penn State for the Jerry Sandusky sex abuse scandal Monday with an unprecedented series of penalties, including a $60 million fine and the loss of all the school’s victories from 1998-2011, knocking Joe Paterno from his spot as major college football’s winningest coach.
Funeral services are scheduled next week for Spc. Nick Taylor, the 20-year-old Berne man who was killed July 16 in Afghanistan.
Visitation will be held next Monday, July 30, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 2 to 8 p.m. in the South Adams High School gymnasium.
Services also will be held in the gymnasium, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 31.
Burial will be at the M.R.E. Cemetery, Berne, with full graveside military rites.
The Adams County sheriff's dispatch room in the county jail recently received a much-needed renovation to help improve efficiency, and comfort, for county dispatchers, according to Sheriff Shane Rekeweg.
Rekeweg first approached the Adams County Commissioners with the project back in April of this year, with plans to install new flooring, lighting, walls, ceiling and furniture at a cost of approximately $76,300.
Three applicants for a vacant seat on the North Adams Community School's board of education will be interviewed this evening during a specially-called board meeting.
Submitting applications to fill the three years remaining on the term of former board member Don Elder were Derek Vrablic, Stacey Bussell and Bob Thomas. The school board will meet at 6 p.m. today to interview the three candidates, but no selection will be made at tonight's meeting, according to Supt. Dr. Wylie Sirk.
Spc Nicholas A. "Nick" Taylor, 20, of Berne, died on Monday, July 16, 2012, representing the Indiana National Guard in the country of Kandahar Providence, Afghanistan. He was born on October 24, 1991, to Tim and Stephania (Montjoy) Taylor of Berne.
