The body of Spc. Nicholas A. Taylor will return to Indiana soil on Sunday, with a private ceremony to be conducted on the grounds of the 122nd Fighter Wing base of the Air National Guard in Fort Wayne at approximately 2 p.m. A family spokesman said Taylor's body will then be escorted to Berne and is expected to pass through Decatur at approximately 3:30 p.m.
When a business has total operating revenue of $20,409,965 for the first six months of the year, a figure of $18,127 seems like small potatoes.
But, for Adams Memorial Hospital, that small number was how much the facility was in the black for the month of June — and for the year the hospital has taken in $147,235 more than what has been spent for expenses.

David G. Girod, 1, of Berne, died at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at his residence.
Among survivors are his parents, Samuel W. and Josephine J. (Schwartz) Girod.
Visitation is 9 a.m.-8 p.m. today and 7:30 a.m.-noon on Friday at the Samuel W. Girod residence, 1662 E. 650 S., Berne. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, also at the Samuel W. Girod residence.
Burial will take place in the Schwartz Cemetery.
Elizabeth C.M. Loveday, 78, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Saturday, July 21, 2012.
Born January 15, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Doc and Stella (Roach) Stinnett.
She married Earl F. Loveday on Dec. 25, 1953; he preceded her in death.
Among survivors are a daughter, Teresa (Raymond) Bodle; sons Earl F. (Judy) Loveday and James J. (Amy) Loveday; eight grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
A day after surviving Eichhorn's Jewelry in the semi-finals, undefeated 1st Class Hoosiers faced another challenge in the championship when they edged Rorick Electric in a pitcher's duel, 3-1.
Rorick had just beaten West End in the other semi-final, 10-1 and were definitely playing their best softball after 1st Class had been virtually unopposed all season long.
