Ray Donald Moodie, 85, of New Haven, died Wednesday, July 18, 2012, at Parkview Hospital Randallia.
Born in Fort Wayne, Ray was the son of the late Edwin and Sadie Moodie.
He was a member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church. The World War II Navy veteran was a member of American Legion Post 330. He retired after 20 years from Storlok Inc., and also from Lake-End Sales after 19 years. Ray was an avid Chicago Cubs and IU Basketball fan.
Betty A. (McComb) Yost, of Fort Wayne, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2012, surrounded by her family.
She was born on January 9, 1927, in Fort Wayne, the daughter of James and Madeline McComb, and granddaughter of David O. McComb.
Betty graduated from North Side High School in 1945 and went on to attend Western College for Women — now Miami University — transferring to Indiana University as a junior, where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority.

WHITELAND, Ind. (AP) — A top federal farm official who spent two days touring drought-stricken Indiana farms said Thursday that most of the state’s corn crop is in such bad shape that this week’s rainfall likely won’t boost yields.
U.S. Agriculture Department Undersecretary Michael Scuse told local farmers who gathered at Kelsay Farms, a seventh-generation family farm south of Indianapolis, that 71 percent of Indiana’s corn crop is in poor to very poor condition due to drought and heat stress.
Officials are saying the rainfall which fell in Decatur and Adams County in the last couple of days isn't enough to end a burning ban. But it certainly was welcome.
In all, the Decatur weather station recorded 1.29 inches of rain, .92 of that coming after 7 p.m. Thursday. That's more rain than fell the entire month of June, 1.08 inches, and boosts July's total to 1.92 inches.
