Scot Croner, who for the past four years has served as the principal at Bellmont High School, is expected to be approved next week as the Marion (Grant County) Community School district's director of secondary instruction.
Croner, who has yet to formally submit his resignation from the North Adams Community School district, said earlier this week that he has informed local school officials of his intention to accept the position. The Marion school board meets June 27 to officially approve Croner's hiring.

The possibility of a recreational vehicle parking area in Kekionga Park, mentioned in the master plan recently approved by the city park board has sparked opposition from residents of the Parkview Drive area, situated next to the park.
Sherry Genth, attending Tuesday night's city council meeting, carried a petition with over 100 names opposing an "RV park" in Kekionga. And, she added, residents of the area aren't happy with plans for a possible dog park in Kekionga, either.
Organizers for the Adams County Relay for Life announced there will be a worship service at 9 a.m. on Sunday at the Adams Central football stadium to begin the last day of the event.
The service will be open to everyone and will be signed by licensed sign language interpreter Julie Jahn. In the event of inclement weather, the service will be moved inside the school.
A memorial service for Charlotte E. Vera, 101, of Decatur, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 23, at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, with Pastor Marcia Kline officiating.
The longtime educator recently passed away. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Preferred memorials are to the Charlotte Vera Memorial Education Scholarship via Adams County Community Foundation, Decatur First Presbyterian Church or Family LifeCare
Edward W. Miller, 86, of Decatur, died at his residence on Monday, June 18, 2012.
He was born on October 9, 1925, in Fort Wayne, to the late Rollen and Edna (Lemler) Miller.
Edward married Rita A. Mattes on April 15, 1950; she preceded him in death in March 2000.
Edward was self-employed as a Mechanic. He served in WW II and the Korean Conflict in the United States Navy and Marine Corps. He was a member of the St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church.
Hugh L. Ehrman, 86, of rural Decatur died Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at Adams Memorial Hospital.
Hugh was born on April 29, 1926, in Preble to the late Floyd W. and Lola E. (Barger) Ehrman. Hugh married his first wife, Bernadine Kirchofer, on Feb. 14, 1952. She passed away Aug. 24, 1986. His second wife, Carol (Yoder) Nussbaum, passed away Dec. 2, 2002. He married Alice (Yoder) Hirschy on Dec. 1, 2005.
Rosalie Ann Young, 82, of Willshire, Ohio, passed away at 12:04 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, 2012, at Parkview Regional Hospital.
She was born in Willshire on December 5, 1929, to the late Walter G. and Daisy P. (August) Stetler.
Rosalie married James O. Young in Witchita Falls, Texas, on January 29, 1951; he passed away on December 25, 1975.
Todd S. Berning, 41, of Decatur, died Wednesday in Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne.
He was the son of Eugene and Sylvia (Doctor) Berning of rural Decatur, who survive.
Also surviving are three brothers, Mark Berning of Monroeville, and Dale Berning and Lyle Berning, both of New Haven.
Inez G. Baker, Rockford, Ohio, died Wednesday in Adams County Memorial Hospital.
Funeral arrangements are pending at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home, Geneva.
The enthusiasm bubbled as Mayor John Schultz and Adams County Economic Development Director Larry Macklin discussed at Tuesday night's Decatur City Council meeting their trip to China last week.
Both men labeled the trip highly successful and at one point Macklin talked about "a definite lead towards cultivating a possible new business" in Decatur.
