Richard C. Sweeney, 77, of Fort Wayne, died Thursday in Fort Wayne
He was born in Berne.
Survivors include a son, Michael Charles Sweeney, Fort Wayne, and a sister, Jean Cabral of Toledo, Ohio.
Private graveside services will be held Monday at the Westlawn Cemetery in Geneva.
Bonnie Lou (Phillips) Walters, 63, of West Liberty, Ohio, passed away at 11:40 a.m. on Thursday, June 7, 2012, at her residence.
She was born in Columbus, Ohio, on April 11, 1949, to the late Frank and Thelma Myers Phillips-Seimet.
Mary H. Miller, 87, of Decatur, passed away at 3:58 p.m. on Thursday, June 7, 2012, at her residence.
Mary was born on Tuesday, May 16, 1925, in Adams County, the daughter of the late John F. and Lola C. (Wherry) Helm.
She married Donald J. Miller on May 23, 1942; he passed away on August 25, 2010.
Mary was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ and the Women's Guild of the church. She retired in 1983 from Central Soya Credit Union after 28 years of service.
Kelly J. Zeser, 46, of Decatur, died Thursday, June 7, 2012, at Adams Memorial Hospital.
Kelly was born in Adams County on July 16, 1965, to Thomas J. "Sid" Zeser and Judith A. (Stauffer) Zeser.
Kelly worked for Peytons in Bluffton for 26 years. She was a member of Zion United Church of Christ and was a 1984 graduate of Adams Central High School.
Area residents, lock your doors! That's the warning Monroe Town Marshall Dio Hernandez gave to town council members Thursday evening.
Hernandez reported there has been a string of thefts, mainly from unlocked vehicles, that began in the Geneva area, moved north to Berne, and has now become prevalent in Monroe.
Hiring relatives will be forbidden by law in Decatur — and most of Indiana — by July 1.
Decatur City Council on Tuesday night began the process of adopting an ordinance curbing nepotism and thus complying with a new law approved earlier this by the Indiana Legislature.
The law does have a "grandfather" clause, meaning any current situations which might violate the law do not have to be rectified.
The Decatur Farmers Market began its fourth season on Thursday and for the second year in a row is located at Riverside Center, where ample parking is available for vendors.
The hours remain the same as last year, with the market opening at 3:30 p.m. and continuing until 6:30.
Participants provide their own tables and covering, if desired, and there is no fee for vendors.
Larry D. Urick Jr., 47, of Decatur, died on Monday morning June 4, 2012, at his residence.
Larry was born on August 11, 1964, in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, to Larry D. Urick Sr. and Iris L. (Hebble) Urick.
Larry married Angie (Hottell) on October 3, 1984; she survives.
