Plans for a Sculpture Walk in Decatur are continuing to be formulated, geared to next August, it was learned at a recent city council meeting.
Decatur Chamber of Commerce President Wes Kuntzman updated council on the plans, with a hoped-for 13 sculptures to be situated in the downtown area, eight of them on pedestals outdoors and five to be placed in business windows.
Adams County Sheriff Shane Rekeweg, accompanied by Decatur Police Chief Ken Ketzler, Berne Police Chief Tim Taylor, and Geneva Marshall Rob Johnson, asked the county commissioners on Monday for approval to move forward on combining the records management system of all three towns into one system, with the sheriff's department being the central policy holder.
Rekeweg said the sheriff's department currently uses a Sunguard Management System, which is used for the Computer Aided Dispatch, records management, and jail management.
Indiana’s state advocate for utility consumers has recommended that Indiana Michigan Power receive only one-eighth of the rate hike it is seeking.
The Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission is considering a request that I&M says would increase a typical bill by just over 22 percent. The utility says the request would produce about $174 million in new annual operating revenue, but the Indiana Office of Utility Consumer Counselor wants that capped at $22 million.
