Michelle Stimpson has been chosen by the trustees of the three northern townships to serve a second term on the North Adams Board of Education.
The announcement was made by Root Township Trustee Dan Bieberich.
The other candidate was former board member Juan Gutierrez.
In his notice, Bieberich said a third candidate was disqualified since the person did not live in the district, as required. He did not name the candidate.
Bellmont High School has announced that its 2012 spring musical production is “Children of Eden,” written by Stephen Schwartz and John Caird.
The curtain opens for two performances in the Erekson Theatre on Saturday, May 5, at 7 p.m.; and on Sunday, May 6, at 4 p.m. Reserved-seat tickets are $7 for adults and $6 for students and seniors. Reserved seats are in the lower sections of the theatre. General admission tickets are $6. General admission seats are in the two upper mezzanine areas.
Barbara J. Bolenbaugh, 65, of Decatur, died Saturday at her residence.
Among survivors are her daughter, Amy (Scott) Ripley of Decatur, and son, Darwin Spaw of Decatur.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter V. Bolenbaugh.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m.-noon on Wednesday in Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home.Funeral services will be held at noon Wednesday.
Charles S. Schaffer, 84, of Decatur, passed away Saturday, April 14, 2012, at 1:07 p.m., in the Markle Health and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born on July 14, 1927, in Adams County, to the late Carl and Myrtle (Baylor) Schaffer.
He married Helen Ruth Plumb on March 25, 1950, in Decatur; she passed away on July 2, 2011.
