FT. WAYNE— The Braves ran into one of the best pitchers they will see all season against the South Side Archers and were blanked, 8-0 on Thursday night.
Will Coursen-Carr, an IU-bound senior hurler, set down fifteen Braves en route to a complete game shutout of Bellmont.
"Bellmont has hit us better than a lot of teams will this season," stated Matt Harmon, coach at South Side.
CELINA—An impressive showing by Bellmont track teams in a triangular meet Thursday night didn't result in wins but the Squaws shattered the school record book with four new standards while the Braves posted 37 season best efforts.
Changes are coming to the food service programs at North Adams Community Schools — from the removal of salt shakers from student lunch tables to a revamped cafeteria layout at Bellmont High School.
Wanda F. Hurless, 81 of Wren, Ohio, passed away Thursday, April 12, 2012, at the C.H.P. Inpatient Hospice Center, Van Wert, Ohio.
Wanda retired from General Electric in Decatur.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald "Shag" Hurless.
Visitation will be Sunday, April 15, from 1-6 p.m. at Cowan and Son Funeral Home, 616 S. Washington Street, Van Wert, Ohio.
The Geneva Chamber of Commerce held its annual recognition banquet April 10, with four special awards handed out during the evening.
The chamber’s Lifetime Achievement Award went to Decatur resident Eric Mann. Recently retired as a reporter with the Decatur Daily Democrat, Mann was recognized for his contributions and support of the Geneva Proud organization and for his efforts with the Habitat for Humanity organization, which has constructed several homes in Geneva.
