Bobby E. Heller, 79, of rural Decatur, passed away Friday, February 17, 2012, at Lutheran Hospital.
Bobby was born on March 12, 1932, in Adams County, to the late Theodore S. and Jeanette I. (Spade) Heller.
On October 15, 1960, he married Mary M. Bornhorst.
The dispatch center at the Adams County Jail got a cell phone call early Friday afternoon from a man who said he was blindfolded in a van traveling north on US 27 toward Decatur and he was going to be forced to rob a bank.
The sheriff's department, Decatur police and the Indiana State Police all swung into action. It was thought that the van had stopped in the Decatur Plaza at N. Second St. and Winchester Road, but police were unable to find it.
M. Juanita Sauder, 76, of Bluffton, died Wednesday in Bluffton Regional Hospital.
Among survivors are her husband, Robert Sauder; and daughter, Nancy (Rod) Gentis, of Geneva.
A private family services will be held later, with burial in MRE Cemetery, Berne.
With a large crowd gathered, both in opposition and support, the Adams County Board of Building/Planning and Zoning granted a request for a variance by Gamesa Energy to allow the construction of a meteorological tower to be built at 200E and 1100N in Adams County.
Gamesa representative Duane Enger addressed the board, stating that the purpose of the 232-foot tower is to gather data regarding wind speed, direction, and ambient temperatures in the area.
The Hope Chest, 127 S. 2nd St. in Decatur, hosted its first annual Pajama Fun Day on Tuesday, with members of the community invited to shop in their hair rollers, bathrobes and slippers. One customer even added a little white cold cream cleanser to her ensemble.
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) — Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry says a private company is planning to build a $7 million volleyball complex in the city that could also be used for gymnastics, wrestling and basketball.
The Journal Gazette reports (http://bit.ly/z9W8kP ) Henry disclosed the plan for the 57,000-square-foot facility during his State of the City address Wednesday. Henry says the building will include a training center, locker rooms, weight rooms, a restaurant and room for 12 volleyball courts.

Warne C. Holcombe, 91 of Decatur, passed away February 13, 2012, at his residence.
He was born November 12, 1920, to Charles Reed Holcombe and Nettie L. (Newlon) in Newark Ohio.
James K. Moses, 77, of Marion, Indiana, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2012, at the Sterling House, Marion, Indiana.
James was born on July 20, 1934, in Decatur, the son of the late James C. Moses and Pauline (Roughia) Moses, who survives. He married Carolyn McDougal on July 30, 1955; she preceded him in death.
James was co-founder of Grant County Manufactured Housing.
Daniel N. Schwartz, 69, of Berne, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, February 15, 2012.
Daniel was born in Adams County on February 19, 1942, to Jacob D. and Martha C. (Neuenschwander) Schwartz.
On June 14, 1967, he married Kathryn L. Wickey.
Daniel was a member of the Old Order Amish.
He worked in construction with BRC Company.
He is survived by his wife, Kathryn L. Schwartz,
