Decatur Mayor John Schultz doesn't expect any immediate economic benefits to come from last week's visit by a Chinese delegation, but he does think an educational exchange could occur in the near future.
Schultz said at this week's city council meeting that mayors he has talked to who have had exchanges with the Chinese say it takes several years before any possible economic development materialize.

Reginald K. Myers, 77, Berne, passed away Monday, December 3, 2012, in Fort Wayne.
He was born in Adams County to the late Hobart and Marcella (Schlagenhauf) on February 10, 1935.
Reginald was a member of the Air National Guard 122 Tactical Wing and spent time in France. He worked at Stricks Trailer Factory in the security division. He was a member of the Berne American Legion Post 468 and was an avid sports fan and enjoyed bowling.
Survivors include his cousins and friends.
DeVona Schearer, 89, Virginia Beach, Virginia., passed away on December 1, 2012.
She was born in Indiana to the late Gustav and Alma Kleine.
DeVona loved to bake and enjoyed going to the beach. Her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy.
Among survivors are her three children, Colleen Constant, Brian J. Schearer (Janie) and Shawn Eller (Mike); 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Lorine Reynolds; and her dog, Crickets.
