Betty J. Lengerich, 72, of Monroe, died on Thursday, October 25, 2012, at Adams Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Adams County on April 25, 1940, to the late Robert J. and H. Wanda (Reidenbach) Baker.
On January 10, 1960 she married Frederick A. Lengerich; he survives in Monroe.
Decatur's annual Callithumpian Parade is scheduled to begin its journey through downtown at 6:57 p.m. Monday.
After forming in the areas around Stratton Place and Bellmont High School, the parade will travel west on Monroe St., then go south on Second St., eventually breaking up in an area around Five Points (Adams St. intersection).
Decatur industrialist Vic Porter will serve as parade grand marshal.
Richard Keith Davis, 80, of Rockford, Ohio, died Tuesday. His deceased wife, Mary Sheets, was a Decatur resident.
Among survivors are two sons, Rick (Kathy) Davis and Steven (Crystal) Sheets, both of Rockford, and one daughter, Dawn (Doug) Coffey of Powell, Ohio.
Visitation is 2-8 p.m. today at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford. Funeral services will be held there Saturday at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Rockford, with military services by the Rockford American Legion.
Decatur Police Chief Ken Ketzler has announced the traffic detours for this year's Callithumpian Parade, to be held at 7 p.m. next Monday.
The parade route begins at Bellmont High School and will travel west on Monroe St. before heading south on Second St. and ending at Adams St.
Second St. in downtown will be blocked off and cleared of all traffic at 5 p.m. from Monroe St. to Adams St.
Four candidates are vying for two seats from District 1 on the North Adams Community Schools’ board of education in the first-ever public elections for board seats.
The top vote-getter in the District 1 voting will receive a four-year term that will start Jan. 1, 2013. If the incumbent board member is the top vote-getter, he will automatically earn a new term on the board, effective Jan. 1, 2013. Their vacated seat would then be filled by a vote of the school board.

At last month's meeting of the Adams Health Network (AHN) Board of Trustees, members learned a state hospital tax tab of $1,346,270.49 had put their financial bottom line several hundred thousand dollars in the red.
This month, the federal government came a-callin' again, but this visit left the hospital leaders in good spirits as Medicare deposited a settle-up check for 2011 in AHN coffers for approximately $750,000 — meaning the hospital now shows a $268,298 balance in the black.
Adams County USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) Executive Director Anya Pinkerton has announced a major change in crop acreage reporting dates for the 2013 crop year.
All fall-seeded small grains must now be reported by Dec. 15.
“In past years, producers had until July 15 to report their acreage for wheat and other small grains,” said Pinkerton “The new reporting date is much sooner than the prior deadline, so we encourage producers to make an appointment to stop by and file a crop report.”
The 11th annual Callithumpian Car Show and Poker Run will be held this Saturday, rain or shine.
The entry fee is $10 per player if pre-registered and $15 on-site registration. All participants must register or check in between noon and 1 p.m. at Riverside Center, 231 E Monroe Street. The last vehicle must be out by 12:30 p.m.
Judging will take place at 2 pm. due to a shorter route, organizers said.
Donald L. Bollenbacher, 85, of Decatur, passed into the arms of his Lord while in the love and care of his family at his home on Tuesday night, October 23, 2012.
He was born at home in Jefferson Township on August 28, 1927, to the late Edward and Nora (Morningstar) Bollenbacher.
He was married to Evelyn Louise Ketrow, who passed away on June 14, 1987. He then married Janice (Foster) Bowen on July 16, 1988.
