Lena E. (Lengerich) Bennett, 85, of Decatur, passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2012, at Swiss Village, in Berne.
Lena was born on November 8, 1926, in Portland to the late John and Louise (Schmidt) May.
On April 27, 1946, she married Richard B. Lengerich. He preceded her in death.
On July 26, 1995, she married her second husband, Winton J. Bennett. He also preceded her in death, on August 2, 1998.
Bellmont High School will crown its 2012 Silver Arrow queen at halftime of Friday night's boys' basketball game.

Decatur’s premier business event, the Spotlight Business Expo, will be held at Bellmont Middle School on Saturday, March 10. Doors will open at 8 a.m. and the event will continue until 5:30 pm.

PLEASANT LAKE, Ind. (AP) — A northeastern Indiana police officer shot in the face nearly six weeks ago says he is making steady improvement and hopes to eventually return to work.
‘‘If I’m able to return, that’s what I’m going to do,’’ Waterloo Deputy Marshal Steve Brady told The Star of Auburn on Monday. ‘‘I’m optimistic I’ll go back to work and continue to be a police officer. Time will tell.’’
