Officials at North Adams Community Schools are looking into the "renovation or replacement" of facilities at Bob Worthman Stadium, according to a report given to school board members Tuesday.
The Decatur area was under a winter weather advisory this morning, with some slight snow accumulation expected today and one to three inches tonight. The other half of the one-two punch is much colder temperatures.
The National Weather Service says an approaching winter storm could drop more than a foot of snow on far northern Indiana and bring wind-whipped blowing and drifting snow, The Associated Press reported.
Doug Bauman of rural Geneva has formally announced his candidacy for a new term as Adams County Commissioner, District Three, on the 2012 Republican ticket.
Bauman said his major goal for the upcoming term is to keep Adams County financially sound and yet still provide services to the citizens as has been done in the past.
Donald William Arnold, 92, of Florence, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2012, at St. Elizabeth Healthcare of Florence.
He was the retired Owner of Arnold Tire Co. of Erlanger and he worked for many years for Goodyear Tire Company as well as Goodrich Tire Company. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of WW II, with the rank of Tech Sgt.; a member of Hebron Lutheran Church; a Kentucky Colonel; and he enjoyed fishing in his spare time.
Betty M. Butler, 88, of Decatur, passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2012, at Chalet Village, in Berne.
Betty was born on March 7, 1923, in Scott, Ohio.
She married Robert Butler on November 16, 1940. He preceded her in death on December 18, 2000.
Betty was a member of Grace Fellowship Church and a homemaker.
Scott O. Garrett, 41, Decatur, died on Tuesday in Woodcrest Nursing Center.
He was born to Howard Guntle and Vietta Landers, both of Portland, but was raised by his adopted parents Allen and Roxanne (Wable) Garrett of Alexandria, all of whom survive.
On July 27, 1996, he married Becky S. Rash.
Steven Whittenbarger, 54, of Auburn, formerly of Decatur, died Wednesday in Wesley Healthcare in Auburn.
