A total of 67 youngsters participated in the recent Cross Creek Golf Camp according to notes released today by camp director Mike Macke.
Macke said the five-day camp ended with a tournament last Friday and there also was a skills competition last Thursday based on various skills such as putting, chipping, and full swing.
The tournament was broken down into age groups and from different tees. The different ages also played a varying number of holes in their tournament.
Monroe Grain is ready to make a run at Monroe LL leaders Peterson Grain and the Farm Bureau Lifers as the regular season winds down. The tourney will be in full force Thursday, though the seeds have not been decided.
The tourney will open with two games Thursday and two other seeded teams will take on winners of the Thursday games on Friday night. The tourney will pick up Monday and run through June 29, a Thursday. It is a double-elimination tourney.
Ben Beer of Bluffton, who works for USI Consultants at Indianapolis, informed the Adams County Commissioners on Monday that three firms attended a pre-bid meeting last week in regard to the project to rehabilitate and restore the covered bridge in the south end of the county.
The bids will be opened at next Monday's meeting of the commissioners.
USI Consultants has completed the design of the project.
Those who recall David Anspaugh as a youth in Decatur in the 1950s and 1960s would never have attached the title "living legend" to him.
However, decades later, Anspaugh, a veteran film and television director, has reached that level, having been acclaimed as an "Indiana Living Legend."
