Esther N. Augsburger, 95, of Berne, passed away at 11:35 p.m. on Monday, April 25, 2011, in Swiss Village Retirement Community of Berne.
She was born on September 16, 1915, in Geneva to Gee R. and Edith M. Edgar Greene.
Mrs. Augsburger was a teacher with Fort Wayne Community Schools and with Geneva schools. She retired in 1978 after 42 years of service.
Neil W. Highland, 91, Decatur, died on Tuesday in Parkview Hospital at Fort Wayne. Funeral arrangements are pending at Haggard-Sefton and Hirschy Funeral Home, Decatur.
Betty J. Tinkham, 85, of Decatur, died Tuesday in Adams Memorial Hospital.

OSSIAN — Bellmont won eight of 16 first places, but the Norwell depth was way too much for Carl Risch's Squaws in an 81-49 NHC loss Tuesday at the Norwell oval.
The Norwell boys won four of five field events to score an 87-45 win over the Braves in that dual.
BHS frosh Holly Hankenson continued her dominating ways with four blue ribbons while sister Bailee had three firsts, as did sophomore sprinter Alexis Harvey.
The Adams Central boys used eight blue ribbons to outscore Woodlan and Bluffton to win an ACAC three-way meet Tuesday, while the AC girls scored seven firsts and added nine second-place finishes to win that three-way meet.

As flooding worsens in southern Indiana, the St. Marys River remained steady in Decatur ... but that could change as the rain continues to come down.
The St. Marys stood at 16.4 feet here at 7 a.m. today, a slight dip from the 16.7-foot reading of 24 hours earlier. The river was measured at 12.5 feet on Monday morning.
The Adams County Winning with Wellness Committee will hold its first annual Winning with Wellness event from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. this Saturday at Adams Memorial Hospital.
The event will follow the 5K Run Over Violence race and will feature fitness activities and healthy eating ideas. By participating in 10 healthy activities, participants will be eligible to win several prizes.

When the opera house's lead soprano, Carlotta (sophomore Madison Stoppenhagen), quits after being grievously insulted, Christine is encouraged to take her place.
