The Chevy Youth Baseball program has included the Decatur Baseball Association this year.
Chevy and through Courtesy Motors of Decatur is sponsoring the Decatur Baseball leagues this year, providing equipment bags and containers, T-shirts, and bat racks for the dugouts.
To vote in the upcoming North Adams Schools referendum, a person must be registered to vote, Adams County Clerk Gayla Reinhart said Tuesday.
Midnight next Monday is the deadline to register. For information, call the county clerk's office.
There has been some speculation that anyone residing with the North Adams district is eligible. To cast a vote, however, a person must live within the district and be a registered voter.
Adams County Auditor Bill Borne informed the county commissioners at their meeting on Monday that a new COBRA insurance plan for county employees has been approved.
So, too, has a retirement plan that, according to the Benicomp firm in Fort Wayne, would be utilized from age 62 for early retirement to age 65 [or when a person qualifies for Social Security and Medicare] or the COBRA coverage.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. this Saturday at Haggard-Sefton and Hirschy Funeral Home in Decatur for Kevin “Alan” Brantly, 52, of Decatur, who died on January 4.
Visitation will be from 12:30-1 p.m. in the funeral home.
He is survived by his wife, Laura, and three daughters, Mrs. Scott (Tara) Watkins of Florence, Mississippi; Mrs. Daniel (Kelly) Walker of Decatur; and Mrs. Doug (Vicky) Jackson of Monroe.
Clifford K. Norman, 74, of Portland, died Monday in Jay County Hospital.
He was born to Marlon C. and Susie Denman Norman.
Among survivors are his wife, Lois; two sons, Rick Norman of Decatur and Steve Norman of Albany; and three daughters, Mrs. Danna (Peggy) Noggler of Fort Recovery, Ohio; Mrs. Dennis (Patty) Linn of Portland; and Mrs. Shane (Pam) Penticuff of Ridgeville, Indiana.
