Carolyn J. Gerber, 71, formerly of rural Craigville, died at 11:50 p.m. Thursday in Christian Care Retirement Community at Bluffton.
She was born on December 25, 1939, in Decatur to Harry and Berniece Hanni Frauhiger.
She married William "Bill" Gerber on March 19, 1961, in Wells County; he survives.
William C. Johnloz, 96, passed away on Saturday, February 5, 2011, at River Terrace Estates in Bluffton.
Mr. Johnloz was born on October 26, 1914, in Adams County to Charles and Lillian (Diehl) Johnloz.
He worked as an electrician at General Electric for 35 years and was a farmer for over 50 years. Mr. Johnloz was a member of Murry Missionary Church and a graduate of Lancaster High School in Wells County in 1932.
Jerry J. Ray, 62, of Geneva, died Friday at Adams Memorial Hospital.
He was born to Paul W. and Grace D. Ray.
Among survivors are his mother, Grace Anderson of Hartford City, and three daughters, Mrs. Levi (Rheannon "Dee Jay") Barker of Monroe, Sherry Clark-Aguirre of Geneva, and Jana Stapleton-Hunter of Fayetteville, North Carolina.
Kenneth D. Reinking, 44, of Decatur, died Friday at home after a long battle against cancer.
He was born in Decatur on March 18, 1966, to Donald C. and Lorene E. Bohnke Reinking.
Surviving are his mother, who lives in Decatur; two sisters, Mary Reinking and Mrs. Sam(Deborah) Schultz of Decatur; and two brothers, David and Mark Reinking of Decatur.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Paul Lutheran Church, near Preble, with burial in the church cemetery.
Ronald G. Seats, 49, of Indianapolis, passed away on February 2, 2011.
He was born on November 6, 1961, in Indianapolis to Nick W. and Patricia Love Seats.
Ron graduated from T.C. Howe High School in Indianapolis in 1980 and attended Vincennes University at Vincennes, Indiana.
He worked for 15 years as a skilled machinist for the Rolls-Royce Co. and was a member of Southside Knights of Columbus at Indianapolis.
South Adams A.D. Mike pries has announced the slate for the 2A South Adams Girls Basketball Sectional slated next week in Berne. He also notes some changes made in the athletic slate because of the weather.
The first game of the SA tourney will feature one of the top teams in the state in Bishop Luers. They will meet Bluffton at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 8.
With the Team Regional rescheduled for next week, Bellmont coach Brent Faurote can worry about getting the most wrestlers he can through to semistate.
The Team Regional is scheduled for the Wednesday after sectional, then the teams don't compete again until after the State Individual Finals, over three weeks.
"I don't know what the rush is about," said the BHS Coach. "I think it should be the following Wednesday. We have plenty of time to get it in."
Fighting back tears on more than one occasion, veteran banker and community activist Larry Isch on Thursday evening accepted the 2010 Stephen Decatur Award, presented annually by the Decatur Chamber of Commerce for outstanding civic contributions.
Mayor John Schultz presented the award, which Isch termed "a great honor." The recipient then paused briefly in an attempt to get his emotions in check.
