Adams County Clerk Gayla Reinhart on Tuesday said the required number of signatures on a citizens' petition seeking an elected North Adams Community Schools' board of education have been certified.
Reinhart said her office verified and approved 1,893 signatures on a petition submitted by the Our Children Our Future committee that could change the way board members are seated.
Adams Public Library will offer audiobooks and eBooks available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, starting Monday, February 28. The books will be available from the library’s website, www.apls.lib.in.us.Â
According to library Director Kelly Ehinger, the eIndiana Digital Consortium collection offers best-selling novels, well-known classics, self-improvement guides and more.
Treva M. Ruble, 95, of Decatur, died at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the nursing center at Woodcrest Retirement Community.
She was born on July 25, 1915, in Monroeville to Ralph A. and Huldah F. Marquardt Barkley.
She married Romey R. Ruble on July 23, 1932, in Decatur; he passed away on January 6, 1988, after 56 years of marriage.
Treva was a homemaker and, at age 73, began employment at The Hope Chest and also at the Adams County Council on Aging, both in Decatur.
