Lifelong friends reunite for Packers game

    Lifelong South Adams Starfire friends recently reunited in Green Bay and attended the Green Bay Packers - Oakland Raiders football game. Scott Habegger, a Wisconsin resident, got the idea for the reunion after hearing TV announcers say that all football fans, at least once in their life, should  see a game at historic Lambeau Field.
    "I've had the opportunity to see several Packers games at Lambeau, and I thought my high school buddies would enjoy seeing a game there as well," said Habegger.

Adams Health in black

    Although the bottom line of the financial page for the Adams Health Network (AHN) isn't as high as what the 2011 budget adopted last year projected, it's still six figures in the black and over $100,000 higher than last month, according to information reported to the hospital trustees Wednesday night at their monthly meeting.

Andrews joins newspaper staff

    The new fulltime reporter on the staff of the Daily Democrat is Jannaya Andrews of rural Rockford, Ohio.
    Andrews will take over on January 1 from Eric Mann, who is retiring on December 31 from fulltime work after 41 years on the job.
    She says she is "happy to be here and looking forward" to the work.
    Andrews knows Decatur and Adams County well, having been born in Decatur and having graduated in 1991 from Bellmont High School.

James S. Hook

    Rev. James S. Hook, 82, formerly of Decatur, passed away on Monday, December 19, 2011, in Indianapolis.
    Rev. Hook was born on December 18, 1929, in Wells County to the late Ralph and Caroll (Schlagenhauf) Hook.
    He served the Indiana United Methodist North Conference for 39 years before retiring from St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in Decatur.
