TERRE HAUTE—South Adams junior Evan Liechty participated for the Starfires as an individual runner in the IHSAA boys state finals in cross country Saturday and finished 69th overall out of a field of 196 harriers.
Liechty posted a time of 16:34.3.
The Lady Starfires' soccer team received their all-conference selections this last week for the ACAC and came away with two players on the first team and three on the second team.
Making the first team squad was senior Brianna Nevil and junior Rachel Simon for the Stars. The Leo Lions placed five members of their squad on the first team to lead the conference, while Heritage placed four, and the Garrett Railroaders and Woodlan Warriors each added a player to round out the squad.
The rain which fell in Decatur this morning is expected to be long gone by tonight, with some rather nice weather predicted for the Callithumpian Parade in Decatur.

The second fatal traffic accident in a month in Adams County occurred Saturday afternoon, claiming the life of a rural Monroe man.
The 12:36 p.m. tragedy on County Rd. 000 near CR 200 South caused the death of Andrew J. Hilty, 64, who died at the scene from a broken neck, according to a report from the Adams County Sheriff's Department.
Teresa Annette Fisher, 59, of Liberty Center, passed away at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday, October 26, 2011, at Canterbury Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Fort Wayne .
She was born on August 31, 1952, in Wabash County Hospital to Roger J. and Maxine (Lewis) Noble. On March 13, 1973, in Huntington, she married Terry L. Fisher. They shared 34 years of marriage together before he preceded her in death on November 4, 2007.
Andy J. Hilty, 64, of rural Monroe, died Saturday in a traffic accident in Adams County.
He was born to Jacob J. and Emma J. Troyer Hilty.
Among survivors are his wife, Martha; three sons, Andrew and Levi Hilty of rural Monroe and James Hilty of rural Bryant; and four daughters, Mrs. Jonas (Rosann) Schwartz of rural Winchester, Ohio and Mrs. Devon (Marietta) Stutzman, Miriam Hilty, and Mrs. Chris (Kathryn) Graber, all of rural Monroe.
Phyllis J. Wittwer Martin, a resident of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away at The Cedars Retirement Center in Leo-Cedarville, Indiana, on Wednesday, October 26, 2011.
She was born on December 16, 1927, to Sam and Mary (Zimmerman) Wittwer.
She was married on June 9, 1963 to Jay Martin, who preceded her in death on March 24, 1989.
She was a member of Westview Alliance Church at 9804 Illinois Rd. in Fort Wayne, where she inspired all who came in contact with her.
