HARTFORD— The Lady Jets traveled all of the way to Blackford county to take on the Lady Bruins and were not disappointed as they came away with the win in exciting fashion. The scores were 26-24, 25-16, and 25-22 in favor of AC.
Adams Central came away with key points during the matches, but what ultimately did in the Lady Bruins of Blackford was too many unforced errors.
Lydia C. Kalthoff, 103, formerly of Decatur, died on Sunday in The Village of Heritage nursing home at Monroeville.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — A man convicted of murdering a Willshire, Ohio, mother and her two daughters after their Disney World vacation 22 years ago is scheduled to be executed Nov. 15 after Gov. Rick Scott signed his death warrant Monday.
Preble and Decatur firefighters made runs on Monday afternoon to the same house in rural Decatur that they had gone to for a fire just six days before.
No one was hurt in the second fire because no one was living in the home due to damage from the first fire. But Mrs. Randy Collier, co-owner of the home, suffered a medical problem and was treated at Adams Memorial Hospital after being brought there from the fire scene by Adams County Emergency Medical Service personnel.
She was later released.
A Decatur child was admitted to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne after being injured at 4:48 p.m. Monday when she was struck by a pickup truck at the intersection of 13th and Washington streets.
The Decatur Police Department reported this morning that, according to witnesses, Kayla S. Hershberger, 8, Cambridge Court, Decatur, walked onto the crosswalk in front of a pickup truck driven by Mike A. Soto, 41, Russell Street, Decatur.
