Rekeweg breezes to win

November 5, 2010

Republican Shane Rekeweg breezed to an easy victory Tuesday in general election balloting and will be the next sheriff of Adams County.
Rekeweg captured just over 50 percent of the vote throughout the county, while two Democrats — one running as an independent candidate — split the remainder of the ballots. The 39-year-old Rekeweg polled 4,805 votes during Tuesday's balloting, while Democrat Jon Fuhrman garnered 2,876 votes and independent Terry Nevil attracted 1,881 ballots.
