Many athletes at South Adams High School have been honored by school officials for their academic achievements. The following have grade-point averages of 3.67 (A-minus) or higher on the SAHS four-point scale, and were named scholar-athletes.

Sixty years after the Korean War began in 1950, between 2,000 and 3,000 people gathered at Adams Central School in Monroe on Tuesday for AC's annual tribute to Veterans' Day, an event that spotlighted local veterans of the Korean conflict.
"Together we stand" was the theme of the program set up and operated the high school's History Club.
Only two years after ending two decades on the Adams Central school board, Steve Bailey was sworn in to his old seat at Tuesday's board meeting, having replaced Barry Ehinger, who resigned to be the board's hired overseer of AC's $10 million construction and renovation project.
Bailey was also named to the board's negotiations committee, filling another vacancy left by Ehinger's departure.
The swearing-in was done by AC's legal counsel, Adam Miller.
Florence R. Bulmahn, 90, of Decatur, died Sunday in Bluffton Regional Medical Center.
She was born on May 6, 1920, in Adams County to Adolph and Viola Grote Marbach.
She married Hugo Bulmahn on June 21, 1942, in Immanuel Lutheran Church; he passed away on February 13, 2007.
Kenneth Dwight Crane Sr., 74, of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, died Sunday, November 7, 2010, at Chambersburg Hospital.
Born on May 4, 1936, in Akron, Ohio, he was the son of the late Dwight and Margaret Crosby Crane.
He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U. S. Marine Corps.
He was employed as a corporate pilot with DuPont, Inc. for 15 years. While working at DuPont, he acquired his ATR rating and accumulated 15 million miles of accident-free flying.
Gaynel I. Lankenau, 75, of Castle Rock, Colorado, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday November 2, 2010.
Gaynel was born on August 2, 1935, in Decatur. She was preceded in death by her parents.
She attended Indiana University and graduated from the University of Northern Colorado. Gaynel began her music teaching career in 1959 with the Douglas County Schools. She was still teaching at Arapahoe Community College at the time of her death.
Virgil "Mac" McClurg, 75, of Decatur, died on Thursday, November 4, 2010, at Adams Memorial Hospital in Decatur.
Mr. McClurg was born in Rush County, Indiana, on March 27, 1935 to Joseph Murphy McClurg and Viney (Griffin) McClurg.
Mac honorably served his country in the United States Air Force from February 3, 1955, to February 2, 1963.
Bonnie J. Urick, 68, of rural Decatur, died Tuesday in Lutheran Hospital at Fort Wayne.
Funeral arrangements are pending at Haggard and Sefton Funeral Home, Decatur.
